K9 Training Analysis

This has been an important weekend for the on-going development of the national Civil Defence K9 resource. Three of our K9 search teams have been undergoing analysis of their training and operational capabilities by Hugh Watson, a dog training expert from the UK. Garda dog unit instructors also attended part of the programme to see the capabilities of Civil Defence in this key area of search assistance. This is part of the development of the Civil Defence search dog policy and the feedback has been very positive.
