Brian McGavin was presented with his 10yr Service Medal by ACDO Fergus Byrne and members of DCD Central AFS. Unfortunately Brian was unable to attend the Presentation Ceremony.
The Lord Mayor of Dublin Criona Ni Dhalaigh hosted a reception tonight to Commend DCD Volunteers for their Professionalism and Compassion to the Victims of the Carrickmines Tragedy. The Lord Mayor also praised DCD for the recent search and recovery in Lucan and our contribution to the flood relief in Longford.
DCD unit from Nutgrove assisted with the pumping out of water from the dry dock in the Grand Canal Basin yesterday for the Dublin Branch of the IAWI. Two of our Waterhouse pumps were used in conjunction with floating pumps.

DCD finished their flood relief assistance in Longford this evening. Thanks to all our drivers and operators that were involved.

DCD along with our colleagues from Longford Civil Defence assist the children from Cloondara get back to school today.
DCD deployed a Hagguland, a Four Wheel drive truck and Five Volunteers to assist with Flood Relief in Cloondara and Barley Harbour in Co. Longford.
DCD carried out a search for a missing person in the river Liffey and river banks at Lucan today. The person was found and body recovered by one of our Swift Water Rescue Teams. Our teams consisted of 6xSRT's, 8xSFR's, 1 X Boat crew [inflatable], 1 x Kayak crew [3], 1 x Land search team [4], 1 x Welfare Team [2].
DCD Casualty Servive provided Medical cover at Dublin Castle today for the Official raising of the National Flag to start the 1916 Celebrations.
DCD provided Medical cover for the New Years Eve concert at St Stephens Green. 15 Volunteers, 2 Ambulances, 1 Operational Support Sprinter and 2 Medical Tents. #dublin
DCD have put into operation an Emergency Lightings System including a diesel generator on trolleys for ease of loading onto our trucks.
Computer VMS signage now installed on one of out jeeps thanks to Fingal County Council.
Congratulations to Clar Ni Ronain on Winning Firefigher of the Year in the Clondalkin Unit. Well done to all recuits that particaped in the practical and theory tests on firemanship. Congratulations also to Adam Gold who was awarded Volunteer Of the Year and to all recuits that recieved CFR and OFA Certificates.
