Colleagues,
Met Éireann have issued an ORANGE rainfall warning for Connacht, Donegal, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary (from 00:00 hours Fri, 11-Sep-2015
until 23:00 hours Fri, 11-Sep-2015 ) . A YELLOW warning is in operation for Leinster, Cavan, Monaghan and Waterford (from 12:00 hours Fri, 11-Sep-2015
until 06:00 hours Sat, 12-Sep-2015 ).
We contacted Met Éireann this morning to obtain an assessment for the next 24 hour period. The current forecast indicates that widespread heavy rain will affect the West, South and the North West regions. This weather system is moving slowly due to a blocking high pressure system to the East of the country, resulting in more intense rainfall in affected areas. The rain will start later this evening and may clear the South West by early tomorrow, but the timing is uncertain due to the blocking high. Spot flooding is likely and may disrupt travel/ road network in places.
Well Done to all that participated in today's Parade and Display in Trinty College.
