Well done to DCD volunteers from Central AFS for completing the Four Peaks Challenge for the Lauralynn Children's Hospice.

Dublin Central Rescue is heading west this weekend to join up with Mayo Civil Defence, Mayo Mountain Rescue, Irish Coast Guard, the Air Corps, Gardai, the Order of Malta and over 600 local volunteers to provide medical and rescue support for the annual Reek Sunday Pilgrimage. The pilgrimage normally attracts over 20’000 participants that make the 2 hour climb to the top of the 762m high peak, a tradition that stretches back over 5’000 years. The “Reek” annually attracts over 1 million visitors, some even undertake the journey to the top barefoot as an act of pennants.
Members from Dublin Civil Defence will be taking part in the 4th annual Emergency Services Swim, hosted by Howth Coast Guard and money raised will go towards the work of Pieta House(click link for details)
The 1km swim takes place from Claremont Beach in Howth on Friday 10th August and registration is €10. Anybody interested in taking part should contact charityswimrace@gmail.com , the swim is open to male and female members of the Emergency Services and ES support organisations such as Civil Defence, the RNLI, Coast Guard, Air Corps, HSE and Lifeguards.

From 10.00am on Sat 22nd Oct, until 8.00am on Sun 23rd, Dublin Civil Defence will be assisting at the Big Wheel World Record attempt at the Point Village in aid of The Bone Marrow Leukaemia Trust. DCD will be providing First Aid and Fire Cover for the event. We are pleased to be able to assist at this worthy event.
