On the weekend of 8th/9th October, Fingal County Council requested Dublin Civil Defence provide crews on standby, as major works were taking place on a crucial water main which would mean a loss of water in some areas.

A decision was made to use the opportunity to activate the Fingal LCC (Local Control Centre) and the attached Control Room.
